Paper dolls
I want to tell today’s children and young people of the history of fashion, and to remind older folk of their own childhood and teenage years. My inspiration for the paper dolls came from old fashion magazines, period style guides and old Finnish films. I find the fashion of each decade beautiful in its own way, and I have borrowed the best of these decades for my paper dolls. The dolls and costumes are painted with watercolour paint.
The paper dolls are printed in Finland and are suitable for play and for display purposes. The costumes come with an explanation on the underside of each sheet. The feel of a bygone era is complemented by the uncoated cream (225/m2) print board.
